Scam-busting – The Qinux Drone K8

For the avoidance of legal issues, let me just state that I’m not providing a definitive yes or no on whether the “Qinux Drone K8” is a scam. What I will however do is provide you some information to allow your critical thinking to decide for yourself. I can certainly say that this is a product I’d personally NOT buy, but again, the choice is in your hands.

This ad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYoHkTZkmFA appeared on a YouTube video about a completely unrelated subject. Making bold claims about the drone such as “designed with the most advanced nanotechnology techniques” and naming dropping an aeronautical engineer “Saul Gaither” – a name that generates precisely zero results in a Google search:

We’ve seen this kind of advert behaviour before with the space heater so the alarm bells would certainly be ringing at this point. Further digging on the product name via a Google search also brings up the same type of fake Indian news articles we saw for the space heater which contain the word “scam” in order to supress potentially genuine reviews that call the product out for being dishonest.

Another point to note, the drone in the video has “P8 Drone” decals, yet this is the Qirux Drone H8. According to the advert, the sale is only online and via the website link provided in the video, yet Amazon lists this P8 Drone (I’m not recommending to buy this!) for 1/2 the price the video is selling it for (even with the “50% super promotion”), and looks identical to the one in the vide. This sounds like an attempt to rename a product each time the negative reviews rise to the top on Google. Which leads me onto this review site, one of the top hits in Google, which shows the drone as being better than rivals. But when you check out the link to visit the sellers store lo and behold it’s the same website as the review.

It’s your money and your choice at the end of the day, but personally I’d give it a miss.

  1. Hi Mike, may I ask if you still have a copy of the screenshot from Top Tech Report posted above? If so, would you be good enough to send it to me?
The drone is not a scam, inasmuch as I received one I ordered for a Xmas present but I need to return it because it doesn’t work in the way it should. The t&c’s say I only have 14 days to return it and your screenshot clearly shows that I have a 30 day money back guarantee.

    Kind regards,
    Louise

  2. Thanks for that, I will not be buying this drone and I will stick with my DJI Mini 3 Pro, and only buy DJI Drones in the future.
